- Employs technology to give consumers an easier way to communicate - results in interactions that are more satisfying
- Can speed up simple tasks such as browsing the web, ie: using Apple’s Siri to verbally “Google” searches
- Helps people who have difficulty with using their hands
- User friendly and convenient
Disadvantages
- Will not always accurately interpret what the user is saying, so there may be a delay for users to correctly pronounce each word
- May not interpret all words such as brand names, nicknames and phrases
- Users with accents will need to try harder to properly enunciate words so the device can detect the intended word
- May cause a strain on your voice to always have to speak to the device
- Loud environment may cause errors in voice detection while it is hard to differentiate between two speakers because only one voice at a time is detected
